St. Paul's Chapel Community Choir

St. Paul's Chapel Community Choir is the parish choir at St. Paul's Catholic Parish & UoN Chaplaincy. We animate the 11:30 am Sunday Mass and major parish celebrations, drawing voices from across our jumuiyas into one body of praise.

What we do

A choir that prays, performs and serves

Three rhythms keep us together: weekly Sunday liturgy, seasonal concerts and outreach, and a love for the Church's living song.

Sunday Liturgy

We animate the 11:30 am Mass every Sunday — prayerful, prepared, and rooted in the missal, leading the congregation into solemn celestial praise.

Concerts & Outreach

From Mater Hospital carols to the African Concert, our voice serves beyond the chapel walls, carrying Christ's mercy into wards, homes and halls.

Who we are

A community of voices, one body of praise

Made up of parishioners from every walk of life, the choir is a place where music, prayer, and friendship meet. We rehearse seriously, sing prayerfully, and serve the liturgy first — but we also love a good concert, a charity drive, and the long tea afterwards.

The 11:30 am Mass is streamed live each Sunday and kept here afterwards, together with everything we sang that day.

  • Authentic African choral heritage

Swahili, Dholuo, Gikuyu and Lingala settings arranged for four-part harmony, sung the way our jumuiyas sing them.

  • Western polyphony & Gregorian chant

Latin motets, Mass ordinaries and the timeless hymns of the Church, prepared with the care the liturgy deserves.

The choir radiates an infectious warmth that permeates the entire congregation as it belts out favourites after favourites of well-chosen, diverse and all-inclusive songs, thereby enriching not just the quality of fellowship but also the wholesomeness of the entire liturgical experience.
