O Father Take in

1. O Father, take in sign of love these gifts of bread and wine!
With them we give our very selves, to be forever thine!
2. These gifts another gift will be, the Son in very deed,
for us a willing victim made, the Lamb on whom we feed!
3. These are the gifts thy Son did bless the night before he died,
by which he showed himself a priest and victim crucified!
4. He now has given us as our own his offering made to thee:
his Body broken, Blood outpoured, for us on Calvary!
5. This bread his Body will become, this wine his Blood will be!
Our humble gifts will be the gift that is most dear to thee!
6. This perfect gift thou wilt restore to greatest and to least,
to make all one in love and joy in thy communion-feast!
